Gobble, Gobble

Thanksgiving Eve, 2008. Perhaps a new Horne family tradition has been started--full on Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday. Kacy holding a freshly-carved leg. We had grand designs for a photo shoot but alas this was the best we could get from her.
A quick horsie ride before dinner.

Aunt Mary and her nieces and nephew.

Post-dinner, a little trio action on the piano.

Time for pumpkin pie, though Kacy was much more interested in the whip cream.

Kacy hopes everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving!!! She is thankful for all her blog friends.
PS Kacy had her 2 year checkup, vital stats are:
26 lbs
34 inches
50th percentile for both height and weight

The Newest Allen Cousin

Welcome Blake Magann Allen, born today in Nashville....

Christmas Is Coming

Starting off the weekend right, with some spaghetti.

On Sunday, Kacy got dressed to go tell Santa what she wants for Christmas.
Waiting for Santa at White Marsh Mall...he was running just a bit behind schedule.

Finally, Kacy's turn with the big man arrives.

Back home in time to watch the Ravens spank the Eagles.

Playing with cousin Katrina.

Grandma put up her Ravens Christmas tree during the game...a photo was definitely called for.

Florida Week and Lacey/Nate Wedding

Let the wedding week fun/madness begin. Kacy and mom flew to Sarasota on her birthday, Tuesday the 11th, and celebrated yet one more time (at a Mexican restaurant, of course) with Boots, GrandDan, Uncle Nate, Aunt Lacey, Byron and Susie.

Kacy got into beach mode quickly.

Boots the slave driver getting her worker bees (Susie, Aunt Carol and Lacey) going on the wedding programs Wednesday evening.

The view from 1410.

Shower time for Aunt Lacey, Friday morning. Boots made her and Nate a scrapbook commemorating their "engagement year".

One tired baby after three days of fun. (Kacy has discovered zippers, namely how to get them up and down, and regularly wakes up sans PJs.)

The big day finally arrived, November 15, 2008. Aunt Lacey's princess dress awaits its moment.

Kacy trying on mom's shoes for size.

And Aunt Lacey is dressed.

Practicing throwing the flower petals (integral to her flower girl job) with bridesmaid Melina. Unfortunately, it was more dump the flowers on the floor and have Melina help me clean up.

Bridesmaids Crystal and Melina with the bride (sorry, out of sequence. Wanted to get pics up for the fans!)

The bride and her girls...

Boots and Aunt Lacey checking to see if anyone was actually coming to the wedding.

And here we go, trip 2 down the aisle as a flower girl. No petals made it on the aisle runner, but Kacy did make it all the way down.

Party time, finally! The happy couple.

Kacy opened up the dance floor, and proceeded to dance/chase the bubbles (from the DJ's bubblemaker) for most of the reception. Here she cools off at the fan that blew said bubbles around.

Grandma and Daddy.

Spending a moment with Aunt Lacey, the princess.

Uncle Nate takes a turn helping Kacy catch the bubbles.

What better time to read Goodnight Moon than during a wedding reception? Grandma was a good sport.

GrandDan with his brothers and sisters.

Aunt Lacey and Aunt Mary--Kacy's two favorite aunts!

Aunt Lacey and mom post-wedding.

Sunday morning, Kacy, mom, dad, Grandma and Aunt Mary walked from the hotel to St. Armand's Circle. On the way, they watched the manatees. Yes, this is as exciting as it got, if you can spot the manatee.

Kacy and a statue of John Ringling (as in the circus).

Taking a sip of daddy's mango smoothie.

And then there were four. Mom, Kacy, GrandDan and Boots closed down the week on Monday with a drive up Longboat Key and Bradenton Beach. Bradenton Beach was where we ran into cool sand sculptures.

A shark.
