Cooking, Icy Snow Adventures and...videos!

Kacy loves to watch us when we are making dinner, and sometimes wants to get involved in "tooking" (her C's turn into T's). Last night she even went so far as to don her Dora apron to get in on the action. Unfortunately, her side dish for the night was rice that gets microwaved in the bag, so not much prep work for our sous chef.

Daddy gave her a whisk to entertain her anyway.
Stir, stir.

We finally got some significant snow (about an inch or 2 by us...Mom is loving winter in Baltimore!) yesterday, which was covered last night by a thick coat of ice. Before heading out this morning, Kacy "played" in it. Not much fun playing with ice-covered snow.

Down she goes. She is learning about ice and what slippery means.

Sorry that mom has been slacking on the video front; below is a collection of videos from the last few months. We are having a talk; mom will do better.

Double the Fun Weekend

Two is not only Kacy's age (which she is well-versed on) but it has become her favorite number. She wants two of everything...crackers, cookies, toys, etc. Which made it only appropriate for taking a weekend trip to visit our friends in Connecticut. For instance, our friend Missy has two puppies, who Kacy enjoyed playing with.
She also enjoyed trying on Vinnie's Yankee santa hat...She is still in the undecided category when it comes to baseball loyalty: Yankees or Orioles? Stay tuned.

She loved playing in Missy's footrests that double as storage.
Eating Missy's yummy stuffed shells.

Continuing the double-themed weekend, we drove to Long Island for Kacy's godmother Liz's baby shower. Her mother did a beautiful job on the tea party-themed decorations. Liz and Kevin are being blessed with twin girls in March...Kacy loves that they are coming as a pair, obviously.

Sitting in Liz's "gift chair" prior to her arrival.

Checking out some of the books that the babies got as gifts. She is quite the book expert...she gave them a thumbs up.

Kacy couldn't just sit by and watch her godmother open gifts.

She made it halfway through Liz's huge pile of gifts (when they come in pairs, there are lots of gifts!!) before melting down. This was mom's best attempt at a picture of the pair before heading back to Stamford.

After a snooze in the car, Kacy was full of energy again and excited to meet Monty, our friends Liz and Kenny's new puppy. (See, the double theme continues: two Liz's in one weekend. You'd think we'd planned this.)
Kacy was a little overwhelmed by Monty's immediate love (read: pouncing on and licking) of Kacy...so he spent time in the kitchen and Kacy warmed up to him by giving him his bones.

Baby steps...getting love from Monty with Liz's help.
Thanks everyone up north for a fun weekend!

Obama, Baby

Kacy wanted to commemorate today in her own way...

After a bit of a blog long-winters-nap, here are some new pics. January isn't exactly action-packed...

Here Kacy helps finish up the rest of Grandma's birthday cake and wears her Ravens best, hoping to pass along good vibes to the team as they faced the Steelers. As we now know, it wasn't quite enough. It was still a great run, and we can root for Boots and GrandDan's Arizona Cardinals in the big game!

Kacy dressed for the wicked temps this weekend.

Rounding Out the Arizona Pics

The second half of the week in Scottsdale was just as fun as the first. To backtrack a bit....

We arrived in Arizona on the day after Christmas, and not long after we got to Boots and GrandDan's in north Scottsdale, some sort of rain/sleet/snow started falling. It was not quite any of that...but all three...if that makes sense. Of course it would like-snow for Kacy's and mom's arrival. However, that marked the end of the bad weather they'd had during Christmas week, and ushered in were 70 degree days full of sun. Just in time!

Happy new year! We spent part of the first day of '09 having lunch at Mimi's.

Ringing in the new year.

Friday Kacy hit the playground in B & G's development.

Mom had to get a picture of Kacy next to the Allen monkey. He's graced many Allen fireplaces since mom was young. When Kacy gets a bit older we'll try the famous pose--pretending to hold a tambourine on your head, a la Monkey.

Thanks Boots and GrandDan for a great time...Sorry the good weather left when we did!
