Giddy Up.

Fall Fun

Special crossover edition: Our hole now has a house on it. This is what construction looked like as of this past Saturday. To follow 9 Arbor Drive's creation, check out our blog www.homesweethorne.blogspot.com.

In other weekend news, we found what we hope is the perfect pumpkin on Saturday.

Yesterday, the weather was gorgeous and we headed north to Boordy Vineyards for their fall festival. Good music, good wine, good times. The Mansolillos and the Moores joined us.

Beautiful Ms. Siena Moore, 2 1/2 months.

Kacy and Jack comandeered a nearby group's pop up table to use as their art station.

College Park Adventures

Kacy and mom went to College Park last night to have dinner with mom's sorority sisters Kristi Sue and Nicky (and Nicky's husband, Kevin), and house mom Dona. Kacy had fun meeting KS's sone Cooper and Nicky and Kevin's daughter Penny.

Kacy and Dona.

We ate at Bentley's, a regular haunt of the girls during college. Kacy, Penny and Cooper got the lay of the land to prepare for their UMD years.

Kacy making sure that Penny looks her best.

Something not often seen on the lawn of ADPi--strollers.

Kacy in the new study room. The house got a major overhaul--it took about 18 months and required basically gutting the old house. The girls got to move back in mid-semester this past spring. We took a tour--and were very jealous of the girls' high-end amenities: cable TV in each room, wireless internet and most of all, central air. All three things were unheard of back in the olden days when we lived there.

Legacies Kacy and Penny and future Pi Guy Cooper want to thank Dona and the ADPis for letting us descend on the house last night. It was great!

Lazy, Rainy Weekend

Editor's Note: 2 videos at the end!
Fall has officially arrived and the Hornes spent a quiet weekend at home, indoors. Rain and temps in the 40s don't make for fun outdoor activities in our book.

Kacy took a bath Sunday morning then struck a pose in her new bathrobe.

That's her blowing a kiss to you, her fans.

Rockin' her Ravens gear for the game vs. the undefeated Vikings.

Kacy hearts her some Joe Flacco. Here she is cheering for him, first shot "Fffff"

next shot "lac"

final shot "co...."

The Ravens of course lost (heartbreakingly) in the last few seconds with a botched field goal attempt. As Kacy says, there's always next week. Oh wait, the Ravens have a bye.
Two videos below. The first features Kacy using some sort of baritone voice...it's a new one.

In the second video, we finally got Kacy to do her big entrance on tape.

Adventures of Kacy and Jack

We went to the Mansolillos for dinner on Friday night...One last evening of summer-like temps before this yucky rain and cold we have now. Kacy and Jack had fun blowing bubbles and hanging out.

A video of Kacy singing her heart out is in the videos section on this blog.

Covered Bridge Festival 2009

We made it back out to Indiana for Covered Bridge Festival this past weekend. We took a hiatus in 2008 so our arteries were ready for the onslaught of fried and sugary goodness awaiting us. Note the sign behind Kacy.
We hit Bridgeton on Sunday. The weather cooperated in that it didn't rain; but it sure was chilly. Kacy usurped mom's gloves and was happy to be dressed in layers.

After lunch, she shared an ice cream cone with Great-Aunt Patty. (And it had gotten warm enough to decide she was ready to go coatless.)

Day 2 (Monday) brought us to Mansfield. Kacy brought her own gloves this time.

You might be wondering: Why does Kacy have that mark on her forehead? Kacy took a digger off the couch at home last Tuesday evening. Her first trip to the ER was fairly easy--they used DermaBond vs. stitches. She was a trooper.

Kacy asked mom to take her picture with Mr. Snowman.

This morning, before we left, Kacy played a few ditties. She also enjoyed singing along with Great-Uncle Eric as he played for her.

Cheesing it up with Great-Grandma Mamaw...

...and Great-Aunt Carol.

Big thanks to the Terre Haute clan for such a great long weekend.
