Happy Birthday, Katrina!

We celebrated Kacy's cousin Katrina's 6th birthday a few days early last night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Katrina was very excited about the High School Musical cheerleader outfit that Grandma found for her. She's been cheerleading all winter so knows how to do cheers of her own.
Kacy liked giving the pom poms a try.

Playdate with John Scot

We went to Silver Spring on Saturday to visit with the Wolfes and watch some Maryland basketball and Olympics action. Kacy and John Scot were in cowboy/girl kind of moods.
And then the "capes" (play kitchen table cloths) were donned to make them cowboys with super powers. AKA Super Kac and Super John.
A sassy super cowgirl.
Going for a ride on the "range".
Grant watched the kids longingly...he can't wait to be able to run around with them.

Happy (Day After) Valentine's Day!

More Snow...

Just a few pictures...we got another 19 inches of snow yesterday, complete with howling wind and white-out conditions. So far for the winter season we are teetering on the edge of 80 inches, blowing the past record, from 1995-96, out of the water (I believe that number was about 62 inches). Oh and we still have weeks to go of winter.
They are calling for more snow on Monday, though meterologists are wary to predict numbers, perhaps out of fear of retribution from angry cowokers and watchers?
Here's hoping spring comes early and starts melting these huge mounds of snow sooner rather than later.

Snowmageddon 2010

The snow came again...this past weekend. They were calling for 22-30 inches for our area. We got about 26 when it was all said and done. It snowed starting early Friday afternoon and didn't let up until Saturday dinnertime.

Kacy at the door to the garage...so much snow...
Exhibit A as to why we were stranded until 11:30 AM Monday morning (a good 36 hours post-storm). They plowed the street in front of our house right after the snow stopped, but didn't come back to do the alley till yesterday. Sweet.
The snow was hard enough (and deep enough!) for daddy to build Kacy her very own igloo.
King of the (snow) mountain.
And now we await storm #2 in four days. Very unprecedented for our area. They haven't even gotten all the sidestreets clear yet and now we prepare for another supposed 12-20 inches overnight tonight. Who knew we lived in the arctic tundra?
