Big Girl With Her Sunglasses

Kacy is getting into sunglasses...mostly wearing them on her head, as her mommy does a lot.

Daddy's garden, 6 weeks in. He is very proud of it, and Kacy loves to go out and help him water it.

A shot with the sunglasses actually ON for a change. Inside the house, but on.

Weeknight Adventures

We went to the Gehrings' on Wednesday night to visit with Abby and go to PF Chang's for dinner in the Inner Harbor. Kacy let Matt read to her...getting practice in for when Abby is ready.

Kacy checked out Abby's bassinet. A bit small for her.

Last night, Kacy had a girls night with mom, Grandma and Aunt Mary at Boordy Vineyard.

She enjoyed sampling some chocolate and managed to of course get it all over her face.

Kacy Catch Up

So we are realizing that a lot of people who check this blog (and the fact that so many do constantly check the blog is amazing and says a lot about how much Kacy is loved) don't get to see Ms. Kacy on a regular basis. Going forward, I will try and keep up with her many new talents, words, etc.

For example, some of Kacy's favorite words of late include:

Watty (water)

Pool (she loves to swim with Daddy)

Meow (cat)

Woof-woof (dog)

Balloon (and amazingly, she does not say it "bawoon"--she gets those L's)

Potty (yes, we know, she needs to be potty trained since she knows what it is--and promptly tells us whenever her diaper is "eewie". We are getting there.)

Elmo, Ernie and Dora are some of her favorite characters and she says their names very well.

Phrases include:

"Help me" (usually followed by someone's name, whoever is close by, and preceded with "my", as in, "Help me, my Grandma".

"Stop" and "No" (which get used quite frequently)

"Where (insert name here--mommy, daddy, etc) go?"

And of course, "I want my (insert name here--mommy, daddy, etc)"

She says "night-night" and "morning" well, sometimes without prompting and even said "Bless you" on her own last week to a friend at daycare.
Kacy loves to brush her teeth. It's a process. First, she has to move the bathroom rug, so that she can scoot her stool over to the sink. Then she climbs up and holds the toothbrush, waiting for her toothpaste. Then brushing commences--it's actually more like chewing on the bristles but at least she likes to do it and we help her get the motion down between bites. She also loves bathtime, as you have seen in pictures throughout the blog, and in her videos. Currently she finds it quite fun to throw cups of water in her own face or over her head. However, when we go to do the same to wash her hair, it's not quite the same excitement level.

At the doctor last week, she weighed in at 24.5 pounds. For those into baby clothes, that means we are FINALLY at the tail end of the weight limit on the 9-12 month clothes, though she has been alternating with 12-18 month clothes for months.

Sorry this isn't more entertaining. We will try better in the future. One amusing note is that for a whole day here and there, over the past couple of weeks, Kacy has taken to calling mommy, "Libby" and thinks it is quite entertaining. She hears other people call her that and figures she should too. So far, she hasn't picked up that daddy's alter ego is "Dave". In due time.

Party at UncaDew's

The Dews had a party on Saturday, and Kacy enjoyed swinging and hanging out with Chris (UncaDew).

She also enjoyed checking baby Abby Gehring out for the first time.

Jack took a turn on the swing.
Time out for a chicken tender.
And back on the swing.

Chris and Abby.
Jack and Kacy once again being goaded on to kiss.

Hope everyone had a good 4th weekend!

Independence Day Bath

Kacy and John Scot enjoyed a quick bath after a fun 4th of July.

Happy July 4th!

Mistakenly, the blog entries for this blog were put on the family blog and frankly, I don't know how /have the patience to try and move them over here...so check them out on www.davelibbykacy.blogspot.com. Also there are pics to show what Dave and Libby did to account for no new pics of Kacy last weekend, for her stalkers.

A Day at the National Aquarium in Baltimore

We headed downtown to go to the aquarium yesterday morning with the Wolfes. Dad documented our walk from the parking garage.

Made it inside...

Checking out the stingrays at the entrance.

John Scot checking them out with his dad.

A turtle...

Some sort of shark...

We watched the dolphin show and Kacy loved it.

Kacy's First Wine Festival

We spent Saturday at the Great Grapes wine festival at Oregon Ridge. Kacy checked our tasting glasses when we arrived.

And enjoyed a bite of the Starbucks freebie they were giving out on the way into the festival.

Jack and his parents, Tony and Shelley, came to spend the afternoon with us. Kacy was very happy when Jack arrived so she could hang out with someone other than Mom and Dad.

Jack also checked out a tasting glass and deemed it good to go.

We made it over to the music area and the kids made a run for it back for a winery's booth.

Hugging it out.

Dave got a hold of Jack and his hair...and you know what happens then.

More hugging. Encouraged by the moms.

Jack and his parents came back to our house for more wine and dinner (in that order!) Jack read to Kacy after dinner.

The sweaty kids needed a bath after their busy (and hot) day...Kacy's first coed bath experience. The moms don't think it phased either of them, different parts or no.
