Kacy Catch Up

So we are realizing that a lot of people who check this blog (and the fact that so many do constantly check the blog is amazing and says a lot about how much Kacy is loved) don't get to see Ms. Kacy on a regular basis. Going forward, I will try and keep up with her many new talents, words, etc.

For example, some of Kacy's favorite words of late include:

Watty (water)

Pool (she loves to swim with Daddy)

Meow (cat)

Woof-woof (dog)

Balloon (and amazingly, she does not say it "bawoon"--she gets those L's)

Potty (yes, we know, she needs to be potty trained since she knows what it is--and promptly tells us whenever her diaper is "eewie". We are getting there.)

Elmo, Ernie and Dora are some of her favorite characters and she says their names very well.

Phrases include:

"Help me" (usually followed by someone's name, whoever is close by, and preceded with "my", as in, "Help me, my Grandma".

"Stop" and "No" (which get used quite frequently)

"Where (insert name here--mommy, daddy, etc) go?"

And of course, "I want my (insert name here--mommy, daddy, etc)"

She says "night-night" and "morning" well, sometimes without prompting and even said "Bless you" on her own last week to a friend at daycare.
Kacy loves to brush her teeth. It's a process. First, she has to move the bathroom rug, so that she can scoot her stool over to the sink. Then she climbs up and holds the toothbrush, waiting for her toothpaste. Then brushing commences--it's actually more like chewing on the bristles but at least she likes to do it and we help her get the motion down between bites. She also loves bathtime, as you have seen in pictures throughout the blog, and in her videos. Currently she finds it quite fun to throw cups of water in her own face or over her head. However, when we go to do the same to wash her hair, it's not quite the same excitement level.

At the doctor last week, she weighed in at 24.5 pounds. For those into baby clothes, that means we are FINALLY at the tail end of the weight limit on the 9-12 month clothes, though she has been alternating with 12-18 month clothes for months.

Sorry this isn't more entertaining. We will try better in the future. One amusing note is that for a whole day here and there, over the past couple of weeks, Kacy has taken to calling mommy, "Libby" and thinks it is quite entertaining. She hears other people call her that and figures she should too. So far, she hasn't picked up that daddy's alter ego is "Dave". In due time.
